Под конец минувшего 2011 года парламенты Москвы и Московской области утвердили, а Совет Федерации одобрил передачу столице обширных земель к западу и юго-западу от традиционных границ столицы. Вместе с землями «новой Москвы» в управление столичной мэрии попадают десятки исторических памятников. Однако как именно будет происходить их передача из одного региона в другой и не потеряются ли некоторые из них «по дороге» — пока не понятно.
